    This eminent art gallery is home to the largest collection of early Maori portraits and early New Zealand art. The gallery also has an impressive collection of contemporary New Zealand art.

    Located within 64 hectares of lush landscaped greenery the botanical garden offers sublime scenery and a haven of relaxation in Auckland's vibrant city. There are over 10,000 plants here showing off their wide array of colours along with a cafe and an excellent visitor's center.
  • C - Auckland War Memorial Museum

    This museum was established in 1852 and should be at the top of your itinerary for your visit to Auckland. As you travel through the museum New Zealand's rich history is evoked through the many collections and artifacts. This is one of Auckland's most popular tourist destinations attracting over a half a million visitors per year. It is a "must see" and despite its title it is not just a war museum, there is a lot more on offer here.
  • D - Auckland Zoo

    Auckland's zoo is home to New Zealand's largest collection of animals with over 1,300 animals and 179 species. Popular exhibits include Penguin Shores, Hippo River and Aussie Walkabout. The zoo is sure to keep the kids occupied through the educational exhibits and amazing animals.
  • E - Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter

    Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter and Underworld World is an aquarium experience. One feature here includes fish and marine creatures galore swimming around as you travel through a transparent tunnel. There is a piranha tank, shark tank, and much more. Three tonnes of fresh snow is made daily for the penguins.
  • F - Mount Eden

    Mount Eden is the highest non-manmade point in Auckland and the views from the mountain on the dormant volcano do not disappoint. Mount Eden stretches 196 meters high and is a popular destination for tourists who visit Auckland. The sweeping panorama from the peak is a joy to behold.
  • G - Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTT)

    This museum houses an enormous array of transport vehicles ranging from aircraft and ships from wars to historic locomotives and trams. There are over 300,000 items on display throughout this museum and it is one of Auckland's most endearing attractions.
  • H - New Zealand National Maritime Museum

    The museum is dedicated to maritime history from early explorers up to modern times including the Americas Cup. There are 14 exhibition galleries here; full-size ships and scaled models are both on display as well as artefacts and documents relating to maritime history. Do not miss this museum.
  • I - Newmarket

    The designer fashion boutiques located in Newmarket include some of New Zealand's trendiest designers. Newmarket is considered to be one of Auckland's premier shopping areas and it does not disappoint. It is also home to a large shopping mall and many tempting cafes and restaurants.
  • J - Parnell

    Parnell is a unique shopping experience in Auckland. Parnell is a historic quaint village brimming with character and home to specialty shops, boutiques and arts & crafts shops in an "old world" setting. Unique one-of-a-kind treasures can be found here. Parnell's relaxed shopping environment attracts visitors from near and far.
  • K - Ponsonby

    Ponsonby is home to upmarket boutiques, arts & crafts shops, toy shops and furniture shops. Ponsonby features an eclectic shopping environment. This area is also home to galleries and cafes and is a hip, trendy shopping destination for locals and visitors alike.
  • L - Sky Tower

    Sky City is home to the Sky Tower which stands 328 metres tall making it the 12th tallest building in the world. The observation decks offer a majestic view over Auckland. There is a revolving restaurant with fine dining offering a unique mix of gorgeous food matched only by the exquisite views.
  • M - Stardome Observatory / One Tree Hill

    Located in One Tree Hill, the observatory is a very popular Auckland attraction for adults and kids alike. There is a 360-degree theater which brings you closer to the stars and planets than ever before. One Tree Hill also is home to archaeological sites, a playground, farms and walking tracks.
  • N - Sylvia Park

    Auckland's Sylvia Park is home to 200 shops and dining choices with a variety of familiar brands and shops including Timberland, The Body Shop, Borders and Foot Locker. There is a cinema complex here with one of the world's biggest movie screens. There is circa 200 shopping and dining choices at Sylvia Park.
  • O - Victoria Park Market

    Adelaide's famed Victoria Park Market is where you can find souvenirs of Auckland, craft stalls, shoe shops and various other stalls. It is a unique shopping experience that is particularly busy at weekends. There are restaurants at the market also.
