  • A - Anusawari Chai Samoraphum - Bangkok Victory Monument

    Anusawari Chai Samoraphum / Bangkok Victory Monument- This Bangkok landmark was erected in 1941 to commemorate Thailand's victory in a war with French authorities in Indo-China. The monument features an obelisk structure and five statues. The monument is located near all major transfer hubs.
  • B - Baiyoke Sky Tower

    This Bangkok hotel is the largest in Thailand and amongst the tallest in the world. It is over 1,000 ft high without its antenna and has an observatory on the 77th floor. There are 85 floors in total and the view from the observatory showcases a fabulous view on Bangkok below.
  • C - Chatuchak Market

    This is a weekend market that ranks amongst the largest markets in the world. It boasts 35 acres and 15,000 stalls. It sells a wide variety of items as you would expect of a market of this size. Expect to see clothes, arts & crafts, electronics, books and much more on display. Also be aware that this market sells live animals which can be distressing to see.
  • D - Gaysorn Plaza

    This is the home of the finest of Bangkok's designer elegance. This upscale mall features luxury designers like Gucci, Hugo Boss and Louis Vuitton along with Thai designer stores, arts & crafts and jewelery shops. There are various dining options here and the plaza has its own spa.
  • E - Grand Palace

    These magnificent buildings offer an Aladdin's cave of treasures. The architecture of the palace is glorious, not to mention the beauty of the temples inside.   • F - Lumphini / Lumpini/ Lumpinee Park

    This is Bangkok's oldest park and offers visitors a rare diversion from the city's busy roads. There is an artificial lake here with peddle-boats available and the park is popular for joggers and cyclists alike.
  • G - San Phra Phrom (Erawan Shrine)

    This is a celebrated Hindu shrine where people who have had their prayers answered often hire dancers to dance as a sign of gratitude to the gods. Worshipers also bring candles and incense and it is busy throughout the day and night. It is a much-visited Bangkok site.
  • H - Siam Paragon

    This is one of Asia's largest shopping malls. It is another upscale designer shopping center in Bangkok and like Gaysorn Plaza it features brands like Gucci, Armani and D&G amongst others. There is a large grocery store, a Cineplex and even an aquarium located here.
  • I - Siam Square

    One of the most eclectic areas of Bangkok for shopping, Siam Square has record shops, fashion boutiques and bookshops. Siam Square is a hip, vibrant, trendy shopping area of Bangkok with easy access to the upscale shopping malls nearby.
  • J - Suan Pakkad Palace Museum

    The building was once a royal palace and was converted to a museum in 1952. The museum hosts five traditional wooden Thai houses, ancient pottery and antiques along beautiful landscaped gardens and lotus ponds. This is a quaint serene sight to suit all travelers to Bangkok.
  • K - The Emporium

    Chanel, Armani, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Gucci, and Versace are amongst the chic labels at this large modern shopping mall. The designer names and trendy boutiques make The Emporium rank amongst the best of malls in Bangkok.
  • L - Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)

    This is amongst Bangkok's most recognizable landmarks. The temple's elongated peak reaches towards the sky and a steep set of steps allow you to travel part of the way up. The temple was constructed with tiny fragments of broken porcelain and is an essential visit for all tourists to Bangkok.
  • M - Wat Benjamabophit (Marble Temple)

    This historic temple is one of Bangkok's most popular destinations for visitors. It dates back to 1899 and the marble featured here hails from Italy. There are over 50 statues of Buddha in the ordination hall. The temple is unlike any other and should be on the itinerary of all visitors to Bangkok.
  • N - Wat Pho or Wat Phra Chetuphon

    Situated in Bangkok's largest temple, the reclining Buddha is the largest of its kind in Thailand. It measures 46 meters in length and the feet and eyes are decorated with mother-of-pearl designs. In a city of many gorgeous sights, this ranks amongst the very finest of Bangkok's treasures.
  • O - Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)

    This temple is one of the most important temples in Thailand. The Emerald Buddha itself is small in size and is made of green jade, not emerald. Its origins are said to go back to the 15th century. It should be noted that visitors must wear long trousers for visits to this sacred temple. It is one of Bangkok's most endearing sights.
