  • F - Holyrood House Palace

    This ancient historic building was founded as a monastery in 1128 but since the 15th century has been the Scottish home of British royalty. The Queen regularly uses this palace whilst in Scotland.

    Jenners is an Edinburgh staple, an independent department store where you will find upmarket designer goods alongside souvenirs and gifts. Jenners is located in Princes Street.
  • H - National Museum of Scotland

    This museum is home to antiquities and art relating to the people of Scotland. Here you will find paintings by Margaret Macdonald, sculptures by Edward Paolozzi and the Monymusk Reliquary which dates back to 750.

  • J - Royal Botanic Garden

  • M - The Royal Mile

    One of Edinburgh's busiest streets this is sometimes referred to by locals as High Street and is where you can find a host of eateries, bars and an eclectic range of tourist shops.
  • N - The Scottish National Portrait Gallery

    This art gallery houses a collection of photography and portraits mostly undertaken by Scottish natives. Built between 1885 and 1890 it was modelled on Doge's Palace in Venice.
  • O - The Writers Museum

    Dating back to 1622, this museum is dedicated to the lives and work of some of Scotland's greatest and most famous literary figures such as, Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Louis Stevenson.
